WHO THIS IS FOR
Finding a therapist who truly affirms your identity rather than merely accommodating it makes a real difference in the quality of the therapeutic work. Caitlin’s LGBTQIA+ supportive therapy is built on active affirmation, genuine knowledge of the specific experiences and pressures members of the community face, and a deep commitment to social justice that shapes everything she does.
All members of the LGBTQIA+ community are welcome here: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and all identities across the spectrum. You do not need to have your identity fully sorted out before reaching out. This is a space for that work too.
YOU MIGHT BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF
BEYOND ACCEPTANCE
There is a meaningful difference between a therapist who is accepting of LGBTQIA+ clients and one who actively practices affirmative therapy. Acceptance is a baseline. Affirmative therapy goes further: it treats your identity as a source of strength, centers your experience as valid from the very first session, and actively works to counter the internal and external pressures that the broader culture can create.
Caitlin practices gender-affirming therapy and has direct clinical experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients across a range of presentations.
We do not treat your identity as something to explore clinically or question. It is affirmed from the first session.
Minority stress, internalized stigma, family rejection, and the intersection of identity with mental health conditions are areas she has direct experience working with.
Caitlin's commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirmation extends beyond the therapy room. She writes, speaks, and advocates for mental health access across all communities.
The full spectrum of LGBTQIA+ identities, all ages, all backgrounds, all stages of coming out or identity exploration.
WHAT WE WORK THROUGH TOGETHER
The clinical work Caitlin does with LGBTQIA+ clients spans identity, mental health, relationships, and the specific pressures that come with living authentically in a world that has not always made that easy.
A safe space to explore who you are, what your identity means to you, and how to build a relationship with yourself that feels genuine and stable.
Coming out is a process that unfolds differently for everyone: to yourself, to others, at work, within family. Caitlin supports all stages without rushing or prescribing a timeline.
Navigating family systems that are not fully affirming, managing the grief of rejection, and building chosen family and community alongside biological relationships.
The chronic stress of navigating a world that does not always affirm you has real mental health effects. Caitlin works with the clinical presentations that intersect with LGBTQIA+ experience.
Experiences of discrimination, violence, rejection, or conversion-related harm that have left a lasting impact on safety, trust, and wellbeing.
Identity never exists in isolation. Caitlin works with the full picture: the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity with race, culture, religion, disability, and other dimensions of experience.
CAITLIN’S APPROACH
Every session with Caitlin starts from the same place: your identity is valid, your experience matters, and the work is about your mental health and wellbeing, not about your identity as a subject of examination. That is the foundation, and everything else builds from there.
Caitlin uses gender-affirming therapeutic approaches, CBT and DBT tools adapted for LGBTQIA+ experience, trauma-informed care through ART and bilateral stimulation when relevant, and a social justice lens that acknowledges the real-world context clients are navigating every day. The goal is always a client who feels more grounded, more capable, and more fully themselves.
“I accept all persons, all backgrounds, and truly work from a place without judgment. This is a vocation and my passion in life.”
